Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer layaway?

We do layaway on our own merchandise with a 1/3 down payment and an agreed upon deadline for payoff.

For consignment items, we will contact the owner for permission to layaway.

Can I buy a helmet for my child without them present?

Helmets must be fitted properly!  With that said, if the helmet is a gift we can estimate size only with a promise that the individual will return for a fitting before riding in the helmet.

What items will you take to sell on consignment?

We accept tack, clothing, and horse related items in good, useable, working order.  All items must be clean, safe and not out of date.

  • Leather should be conditioned
  • Clothing should be laundered or dry cleaned

We do not accept helmets or any items valued under $10.

When will I get paid for my consignment items that have sold?

Checks for consignment sales go out at the end of each month for all sales occurring in the previous month – i.e., if your item sells on April 5th, your check will be mailed at the end of May, unless you request an early payment.  If this is the case, we need a day’s notice and you can pick up your check at the store.

How much does a saddle fitting cost?

How long do you keep consignment items?

We consign items for 12 months.  The consignor is responsible for picking up items at the end of the consignment period.  The store does not call to remind you when your items have aged-out.  After the consignment period, WTE may donate items or sell them as our own.  Please see our Consignment Form for more details.

You may pick up any unsold consignment items at any time during the consignment period.
